The 2016 F3 RC 800 and F3 RC 675, delectable little pocket rockets from MV Agusta

MV Agusta have released the first official pics and specs of the new F3 RC 800 and F3 RC 675, both limited edition machines, with production limited to just 250 units and 100 units respectively. The bikes are replicas of the machines raced by Jules Cluzel and Lorenzo Zanetti in the World Supersports (WSS) championship series.

Both the F3 RCs are powered by MV’s DOHC, 4-valves-per-cylinder, inline-three engines, which feature titanium valves, a counter-rotating crankshaft, slipper clutch and MVICS. The 675 triple produces 128 horsepower at 14,500rpm, while the 800 triple pumps out a bigger 148bhp at 13,000 revs. Top speeds, at 260kph for the F3 RC 675 and at 270kph for the F3 RC 800, are impressive.

Electronics on both the F3 RC bikes are top-notch, with MVICS (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System) once again taking centre stage. MVICS controls the F3 RC’s ride-by-wire throttle management system, ABS and 8-stage traction control system. The chassis, with its mix of trellis-type steel-tube construction, combined with aluminium side plates and single-side aluminium swingarm remains unchanged, and provides optimum rigidity for the street as well as for track use. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm Marzocchi fork at the front and Sachs monoshock at the rear, both ends being fully adjustable.

With twin 320mm brake discs at the front, gripped by radial-mount Brembo monobloc calipers, the F3 RC has immense stopping power. The factory-fitted Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres (120/70-ZR17 at the front, 180/55-ZR17 at the rear) provide massive amount of grip, and expert riders could be elbow-dragging around corners (only on the track, of course...) in no time. The bikes’ dry weight figures – 173kg for the 675 and

All 350 units of the limited edition F3 RC (100 units for the 675, 250 units for the 800) will come with a plate of certified authenticity, signed by MV Agusta President, Giovanni Castiglioni. The price? A mere 15,600 euro for the F3 RC 675, and 17,210 euro for the F3 RC 800. “There are a lot of beautiful motorcycles in the world, but MV Agusta is something else,” says a press release from the Varese-based company. We couldn’t agree more.
